Kuma Sings the Blues

Was practicing earlier today. Kuma decided to join in. I’m not sure if he was protesting or trying to add lyrics. My  gut tells me that my trumpet playing was probably too loud for his little puppy ears.

Sorry little buddy. I will practice softer in the future.

    Gosh that’s pretty cute.
It’s probably something similar to when dogs howl at an ambulance. My dogs don’t but my Grandma’s neighbor’s dog Jake did, and they live right down the street to a hospital so he would howl all the time.
Conker didn’t like it when my ex would play tuba. He’d screw up his face and begin to growl. He doesn’t like my trombone either and will leave the room if he sees me get it out, but doesn’t growl at it like he did with the tuba.

Ha. That’s interesting. Sometimes I wish I could get inside his little animal brain to see what he’s thinking. He’s so quirky. I have noticed that he only tends to howl if I play high pitches. Lately I’ve been practicing with a mute to make it easier for him. But he’s gonna have to get used to the sound of the trumpet, I practice 2-3 hours most days. I correct him when he howls and he’s getting better. After the correction he usually comes to where I am and goes to sleep while I practice. Kind of weird. Nice to have the company though 🙂
